Spiritual Formation
Spiritual Formation is the process of being intentional, humble, and steadfast in seeking the Lord, and allowing Him to mold, refine, and build us into the person He intended when He first created us. Becoming like Jesus is God’s highest call on our life and does not come about casually. Our soul is the intangible, completely unique, and personal part of each of us that God created in His image. Each of us has experienced the incredible joys and gifts that God ordained for us before we took our first breath. In tandem, we have experienced deep pain, broken and wounding that all of us inevitably endure. Our own fallen, sinful nature wages war against the good God who created us. Our souls are the part of us that is most easily neglected and yet God knows every detail of who we are from beginning to end.
Soul Care is an intentional choice that a Christian makes to be on purpose with giving attention to the inmost part of who we are. Allowing the God of creation who loves us more than we can imagine and who gives us life into our inmost places is what we need more than anything else. It is centered in scripture, driven by prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, and requires us to cooperate with what God has planned when He started the good work in us.
